Vadapalani Murugan Temple is a famous Murugan Temple located in Vadapalani, Chennai. The temple was renovated in 1920 and the royal tower was built. The temple was built in the year 1890 with a simple thatched shed. Vadapalani Murugan Temple The temple has many shrines dedicated to various deities. Separate shrines for Varasithi Ganesha, Sokhanathar Siva, Meenakshi Amman, Kali, Bhairavar, Valli and Devasena Samadeva Shanmugar. The moolavar in standing posture resembles Palani Murugan.  One of the Navagrahas has a separate shrine called Mars.
